Event Details

Complicated Book Club is back! This year we're reading and discussing Michael Finkel's The Art Thief: A True Story of Love, Crime, and a Dangerous Obsession. Books are still available to borrow from our in-house book-club kit!

The Art Thief: A True Story of Love, Crime, and a Dangerous Obsession tells the story of Stéphane Breitwieser, an art thief who, between 1994 and 2002, stole more than $2 billion worth of artwork from galleries and museums across Europe. What complicates this story, though, is that Breitwieser stole out of an appreciation of art, not for monetary gain.

Grab a copy, mark your calendar, and come discuss who gets to own art and why: Saturday, July 27th from 2-3 pm, in the library's Community Room. Group is open to anyone who has read the book and wishes to discuss it!

Thank you This House of Books for graciously providing 10 free copies of this year's complicated book!
