Throughout the month of September, we are proud to display a collection of history projects created and by Eagle Cliffs Elementary School students for this year's National History Day!
The Eagle Cliffs 4th Grade Class of 2024–2025 spent the spring diving deep into Montana’s history—exploring how the state has changed over time, the events and people who shaped it, and the rich cultural diversity that impacts our shared story. As part of the National History Day program and this year’s theme, Rights and Responsibilities in History, students researched historical figures using credible sources, including primary documents, and debated who should earn the title of the “GOAT of Montana” (Greatest of All Time).
Through careful questioning, credible research, and thoughtful analysis, they selected individuals whose actions, character, and impact left a lasting mark on Montana’s past and present. The nine winning poster boards—recognized for their exceptional research, creativity, and presentation—will be on display at Billings Public Library this September, offering a glimpse into how young historians connect the past to the world we live in today.
