The American Buffalo is a two-part, four-hour documentary directed by Ken Burns, written by Dayton Duncan, and produced by Julie Dunfey and Ken Burns that explores more than 10,000 years of North American history, across some of the continent’s most iconic landscapes, tracing the animal’s evolution, its significance to the Indigenous people and the Great Plains, its near extinction, and the efforts to bring the magnificent mammals back from the brink The screening was made possible through the support of Montana PBS.
