Join us for a free screening of the film Life in the Land: The Mighty Few (District of the Crow Nation) and a conversation about approaches to community and economic development within Native Communities.

The conversation will feature: 

- Harold Male Bear Stone, Wyola District Senator 

- JoRee LaFrance, narrator of the film, Plenty Doors Community Development Corporation

- Tally Monteau, Project Manager for Triia (a project of the Native American Development Corporation)

 

 

About the film:

Iikooshtaka’atbaatchaache, home of the Mighty Few. Historically, and still today, the Mighty Few (a District of the Apsáalooke or Crow Nation in Southeast Montana) have proven their name through resourcefulness, determination, and strength in unity. Witness the process of this community strengthening their connection to identity, the land, and community togetherness. Through truly grassroots efforts, the Mighty Few are guiding action that creates necessary healing, economic opportunities, and self-determination to thrive into the future.

Life in the Land is a documentary film and podcast series that shares stories of those who interact with the complexities of Montana’s land, waters, and communities, looking at the success and value in collaborative & locally-led initiatives. Hear unique perspectives from local leaders, scientists, ranchers, and more from within Montana’s rural and tribal communities. Witness the work that is fostering resilient communities and landscapes for all life to thrive.
