Billings Public Library is excited to host local musician Mary Kate Teske for a live performance on Saturday, October 21! Mary Kate will perform from 2-3:00PM underneath the library's oculus. Mark your calendar and come by to enjoy this wonderful local musician, and make sure to stop by her merchandise table after the show!

Mary Kate's self-titled debut album was released earlier this year, recorded and produced here in Billings.

Multi-media artist Mary Kate Teske was raised on a farm in the Badlands of Eastern Montana in remote Prairie County. An uncle tossed a guitar at Mary Kate when she was in high school, which led her to teach herself to play, writing songs of her own, experimenting with her own form. She tells stories about life on the prairie, living out of her 1961 Dodge Lancer, nomadically hopping from one end of Montana to the other in search of songs. With the self-titled debut album Mary Kate Teske, she leans into her experiences to share rich, emotive narratives of a rural western world on the cusp of dying out.

Along with music, Teske is an accomplished fine art photographer, working in the lineage of pioneering female photographers like Evelyn Cameron. She has published several collections of her work and has earned multiple first place awards from the Montana Newspaper Association for feature photography and portraiture. Her solo gallery shows in Montana include the Evelyn Cameron Heritage Center in Terry and Wheatgrass Arts & Gallery in Glasgow.

Teske is a recipient of the 2023 Montana Arts Council Strategic Investment Grant.
