Event Details

Join us for an urban sketching demonstration with renowned local artist John Kennedy! During this short presentation John will demonstrate and talk about some of the ways he embraces his creative self though art, and hopefully encourage attendees to either start or rekindle their creativity. His art includes drawing and sketching, fine art, and various forms of visual and written journaling. He’ll show some of his work, make some art, talk a little bit about his artistic journey, and maybe learn a little bit about yours.

John is the Director of the Billings Arts Association and an active member of Billing's Urban Sketchers, a community that celebrates the beauty of everyday life through on-location sketching. His sketches capture the pulse of the city, and whether it's a quiet coffee shop, the library or museum, or a downtown street corner, John tries to breathe life into the urban fabric. In addition to a variety of creative sketchbook practices, John creates fine art in graphite, watercolor, oil, acrylic, and mixed media creating both representational and abstract art. He is currently exhibiting at Sandstone Gallery in Billings.

All attendees will receive a raffle ticket for one of two grand prizes filled with art supplies and the first 15 registrants will receive 1 ebony pencil, an eraser, and a sketchbook! All giveaway materials graciously provided by Art's Paper & Paint. Must be present to receive raffle prize and sketchbook giveaway.

Register below beginning June 1.
